Turning L’s into W’s!

Hello, Hey Hiiiii!!

I promise I’m not going to be talking about goals every month, but one of my goals for this year is to put myself and my work out there. Applying to things that I want to be part of but wouldn’t out of the fear that I am not qualified. Entering competitions, showcasing my art and so on!

Taking that into consideration and the title of this blog you are reading, I think you can guess how that has been going. The first thing I submitted my painting was for a open call group show and the theme was Un-loveable. Any style and any medium. My painting didn’t get picked.

Title: ‘Whole Package, Wrong Address’

I feel like it lived up to it’s name but I ain’t worried because it’ll end up at the right address!

Another opportunity that I submitted my work for was an opportunity to design some merchandise for the music group Phony PPL for their latest album Euphonyus. Once again the theme here is taking the L’s and turning them into W’s. That being said, mine didn’t get picked.

I’m proud of myself for this one because I was busy overthinking about the reason not to do it. But I’m glad that I listened to that one reason that said yes!

Now to wrap it all up and bring in the W’s! Even though I didn’t get chosen for either of the things I entered. I am so proud of myself because 1.) I am doing what I said I was going to do. 2.) I am learning it’s not that scary and even if it is it’s okay. 3.) I am trusting the process!

You thought I forgot to share February’s self portrait didn’t you!

Given that it was February, the month of love. I decided to get my inspiration from the Romantic era but of course in a way that resonates to me!
